Benfica should land striker from Portuguese League

Benfica Blog
Benfica are still looking for a striker to replace the recently departed Raul de Tomas and with the club being linked to various strikers outside Portugal it may just be time that Benfica take a look within the Portuguese league to add a third string striker in case of injuries to current strikers Carlos Vinicius and Haris Seferovic.
The clubs current strikers on the B squad are both under the age of 21 and without any minutes in the top league for either, the club would be taking a big risk if they do not shore up the position with half a season in front of them. A move for a striker within the league would land the club with a player who is famaliar with the style of  league play and also not break the bank. There are a handful of strikers that Benfica can turn to that are having respectable seasons for their current respective clubs, some of the names that come to mind are Rio Ave's Taremi, Gil Vicente's Sandro Lima, Aves' Mohammadi and Famalicao youngsters Anderson Silva and Toni Martinez.

The club would find that these strikers except possibly Anderson Silva could all be had for under €5M while Anderson would not reach €10M, a far cry from some of the players the club has been linked to during this transfer window that all seem to carry a purchase price of over €20M.
These current five strikers have combined for 42 goals across all competitions this season with Gil Vicente's Sandro Lima leading the way with 10 goals. A move by Benfica in this manner would also reduce any pressure to perform on the incoming striker and with the likely hood of him amassing little minutes unless the club suffered some injury concern, this move could be just what the club requires for the remainder of this season. If Benfica were to land one of theses five strikers it would seem to me that the best fit from the five mentioned may just be Aves' Mohammadi who has not only scored seven goals this season (one against Benfica) but has also added seven assists across all competitions and his scoring and play making ability would fit in nicely with the clubs current style of play. The 26 year old Mohammadi is in his first season in Portugal and Benfica could secure his services on the cheap while also sweetening the pot by sending a youngster back to Aves on loan for the remainder of the season. Benfica knows that they need a striker, the fans know that they need a striker, why not take a simple approach to plugging a hole on the team from within the league as they look to win another league championship.
