Benfica already said to have Ramos replacement

Benfica have given agent Jorge Mendes the green light to find a suitor for current striker Goncalo Ramos, as they look to cash in big on the strikers rise last season. The 22 year old has already been heavily linked with PSG, Manchester United and Newcastle this summer and Benfica are said to be looking for a minimum sale price of €80M to allow the striker move on.

Benfica are said to already have their sights on Ramos' replacement in Feyenoord's Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez. Benfica and Feyenoord's transfer offices are already famaliar with one another, having completed two deals together over the last year. The first was acquiring midfielder Fredrik Aursnes last summer and this season the two clubs agreed on a move for midfielder Orkun Kokcu joining Benfica.

Gimenez is fresh off scoring the winning goal for his Mexican national side on their way to capturing the 2023 Gold Cup just yesterday. Gimenez joined Feyenoord last summer from Cruz Azul and scored 23 goals in 45 games across all competitions for the Dutch club. Feyenoord is said to be looking for €25M for the services of the 22 year old.

Benfica in Basel for friendly tomorrow

Benfica have departed England after spending the past week of their pre-season at St. George's Park and have arrived in Basel, Switzerland. Benfica are set for their second friendly tomorrow against the Swiss club after opening their pre-season with a 2-0 win over Southampton earlier this week.

Benfica are expecting 20,000 supporters to be in the stands at St. Jakob Park as they face Basel for the first time in Switzerland since an embarrassing 5-0 thrashing during the 2017/18 Champions League group stage when Rui Vitoria was at the helm.

Benfica being linked to another left back, this time from Spain

Benfica are being linked to another left back just twenty four hours after acquiring David Jurasek for the position with reports out of Spain's Estadio Deportivo reporting that the club has interest in 23 year old Betis left back Juan Miranda.

Miranda appeared in 31 games across all competitions last season for Betis, scoring three goals while setting up five. Miranda came up through both Real Betis' and Barcelona's youth systems and has competed through out Spain's youth squads, a member of both the nations U19 and U17 Euro champions.

Miranda who had one year left on his contract with Betis is said to be valued at around €10M with AC Milan also having their eyes on the player.
