Benfica still monitoring Rangers midfielder

Benfica Blog
There are reports coming out of Scotland that Benfica still have some interest in Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara and are still monitoring the player as the season winds down. The 25 year old Finnish international joined Rangers in the winter of 2019 for a mere €55K from Dundee FC and will land the Scottish club a windfall when he departs the club for greener pastures.

Kamara spent a substantial amount of time during his youth years developing in England with Arsenal and Southend before moving north to Dundee FC in the summer of 2017 on a free transfer. Benfica got two good looks at Kamara's skill in the defensive midfielder role during their two game encounter in Europa League group play.

Kamara does have two years left on his Rangers contract but with interest growing around Europe for his services, the Scottish side will be hard pressed to hang onto the player past this season. Kamara has appeared in 99 games across all competitions for Rangers, chipping in four goals while setting up five others. Rangers would be looking for a transfer fee of €10M - €15M to depart with the services of Kamara.
