Benfica Blog

Benfica have been linked to former Seixal academy player Rony Lopes according to reports coming out of Portugal. Lopes who is currently the property of Spanish club Sevilla, spent the 2020/21 season on loan with French side Nice were he appeared in 33 games across all competitions, scoring five goals while setting up two.

Lopes last played in Portugal with Benfica's under 17 squad in 2012 before being sold to Manchester City for a bargain price of €1M. The 25 year old winger has also spent time with Lille and Monaco since his departure. Sevilla are said to be looking at between €7.5M to €10M to make the move happen but could also be open to discussing a season long loan with an option to buy.
