The Champions League group draw was completed a little earlier today and Portugal's only representative Benfica has been drawn into group G along with Russian League Champions Zenit St. Petersburg and third place clubs in their respective leagues Lyon from France and RB Leipzig from Germany. The group looks to be the widest open group of all the groups this season in the Champions League as any of the four clubs could finish atop the group when the stage ends in mid December. Benfica will open their Champions League tournament on September 17 at home against RB Leipzig.
Benfica's Champions League 2019/20 schedule:
September 17 (home) vs RB Leipzig
October 2 (away) vs Zenit
October 23 (home) vs Lyon

French clubs interered in Benfica's Zivkovic
French clubs are in talks with Benfica for a loan move of Serbian winger Andrija Zivkovic, who looks to have fallen out of the plans of Bruno Lage this season. Zivkovic has yet to dress for any of the clubs first three league games or the Super Cup game, Nice and Rennes are the two French clubs being linked with a loan move for the 23 year old. Nice is also said to be looking at potentially purchasing 50% of the players rights for €10M. Zivkovic joined Benfica in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer and has appeared in 84 games across all competitions for the club, scoring 4 goals and setting up another 24.

Chiquinho could be done for 2019 with injury
Benfica have received the medical diagnosis on Chiquinho's injury suffered towards the end of their Classico game against FC Porto and the report is not encouraging. The Benfica midfielder could be lost for the remainder of 2019 with an adductor tendon injury on his left leg but the club will know more in the coming weeks if a surgery is needed or not. Chiquinho has been a spark off the bench for Benfica this season and the club hopes that at the earliest Chiquinho could return to the club in early November.
